Patient Access

PatientAccessBurnham Health Centre offers Patient Access which is a new way for patients to interact with the surgery. Using Patient Access you can check to see what appointments you currently have booked, cancelled pre-booked appointments if you no longer require them, advise us of changes to your contact details or send us messages. It will also enable you to request repeat medication, check your test results and what immunisations you have had, make future appointments or appointments for the same day and see most aspects of your clinical record. This service is available to all patients who are registered at the practice who have an email address and who have access to a computer and the internet.

To register for this service, you will need to come into the practice with Photo ID (passport, photo driving licence etc.) and request your registration details for Patient Access. Once we have checked your details we will supply you with a letter containing login codes and a pin and then you can

which will take you straight to the log in and registration page of the Patient Access website. On the registration page you will then need to select the register option in the left hand pane and then follow the instructions on screen. Because you have codes and a pin you should answer yes to the question about having a letter from your practice. We are sorry, but we are currently unable to offer our patients the opportunity to sign up online. The Patient Access software does not work correctly and causes housekeeping issues with your clinical record so for the time being we have had to disable it. Hopefully these issues will be resolved in the near future and we will once more be able to offer this option but in the meantime you will need to come into the health centre to register. Once your registration is approved you will be able to access the services above. Once you have successfully registered you should use the Sign In option in the right hand pane to access your Patient Access account. There is help available on the site to assist you in looking at what appointments you currently have outstanding and in ordering your repeat prescriptions. you can also get help with editing your contact details so that you can keep your record up to date and assist us in contacting you should we need to.

The practice changed from the current online script ordering system to Patient Access in April 2014. This is because it has a direct link into our clinical system and therefore your medical record. Any medications you have on repeat should be visible to you and you can just tick those items you require and this will then send a request electronically to the health centrePBEmis. This method reduces the possibilitites of prescribing error and will improve the service we are able to offer. If you don't currently order your repeat prescriptions online but have access to a computer it would be worthwhile signing up for Patient Access.

You will need to present at the practice with photographic proof of Identity (passport or driving licence) before your Patient Access account can be activated
